Biokinetics is Chain Reaction's masterpiece, Hamburg harbour rendered as rhythm, dub techno at its deepest and most hypnotic. Porter Ricks built tracks that pulse and shift almost imperceptibly, and the whole record works like a slow tide. It's the engineering school every subsequent dub techno producer studied, and Echospace is direct descent. It ranks at a hundred and two because it does one thing, but it does that one thing better than almost anyone.
