Chain Reaction's masterpiece; Hamburg harbour rendered as rhythm

Hamburg harbor becomes rhythm on Biokinetics. Porter Ricks shift the pulses so slowly that repetition starts to feel tidal, with pressure changing before the pattern seems to move. Echospace later followed that engineering almost directly, but the physical sensation is already complete here. One idea, carried further than almost anyone has carried one.

2 on The 10 Best Dub Techno Albums

Hydrophones, harbour noise and Chain Reaction's reverb, assembled into something closer to a body of water than a record. Köner came from sound art and Mellwig from engineering, and the combination has never been repeated.

11 on The 10 Best Techno Albums

Hydrophones and harbour noise through Chain Reaction's reverb. Less an album than a body of water you are briefly inside.
