Named the genre in the sleeve notes; the chill-out room's grandfather
Music for Airports named a genre in its own sleeve notes and remains in literal use as music, playing in airports and countless rooms. Eno made the definition practical rather than theoretical: music designed to alter a space from its edges. Its distance from the dancefloor later gave rave culture a model for the chill-out room.
