Elevations

Elevations is René Löwe of Chain Reaction pushing Basic Channel's aesthetic further into the fog, dub techno at its most weightless and hypnotic. Vainqueur took the label's sound and made it even more spacious, tracks that seem to hang in the air rather than move through it. It ranks at a hundred and thirteen because it's a deepening of an existing idea rather than a new one, but the deepening is exquisite, and few records float this convincingly.
