Rhythm & Sound

Rhythm & Sound reduces dub techno to cavernous space, hiss, echo and low-end weight. 'Imprint' closes on almost seventeen minutes of it, longer than some of the tracks around it put together. Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus make minimal change physical, so decay and repetition carry more drama than overt arrangement.

The founders going all the way into dub, with Jamaican vocalists over the versions. It gave the project a lineage rather than merely a sound, and it is the warmest thing either man made.
