Before Robert Henke helped write Ableton, Hongkong was already obsessed with systems, spacing and control. Monolake cut huge gaps around precise events, making each sound feel placed instead of simply triggered. You can hear an engineer's mind at work, but the humidity stops the record turning clinical. An early statement still finding its range: the range went on to shape how electronic music gets made.
