Hard Normal Daddy

Squarepusher plays fusion jazz at breakneck speed on Hard Normal Daddy, and the musicianship is too physical to disappear inside the programming. Bass lines swing against impossible edits, tunes keep surfacing through the technical display, and the record remains playful even when the playing becomes absurd. It is a display of chops as much as a set of songs. Even the showiest runs land back inside the tune.
