Geir Jenssen records the Arctic and files the results as techno, which is roughly how it works in practice. He came out of the Norwegian band Bel Canto and took the name from Biosphere 2, the sealed-dome experiment. Four albums chart. Substrata gets voted the greatest ambient record ever made often enough that the claim has stopped sounding like hyperbole.
