Maxinquaye

Maxinquaye is Bristol's paranoid twin to Blue Lines, and it startles in a way almost nothing near it does. Tricky buried his own voice under Martina Topley-Bird singing his words back at him, and built a claustrophobic, narcotic world that nobody has successfully copied. It shifted the atmosphere of UK music that came after it, rap included. 'Strugglin'' and 'Feed Me' divide listeners, which is the only reason it sits below Walking Wounded rather than above.
