Lamb

Lamb married jungle drums to one of the decade's genuinely great voices and made the pairing sound inevitable. 'Gorecki' is the track everyone remembers, all skittering breaks under Lou Rhodes' aching delivery, but the whole record works that seam between the electronic and the intimate. It's more song-focused than most of the drum & bass around it, and better for it. It sits at twenty-six because the album dips where its peaks soar, but those peaks are real.
