Accelerator is a rave record that sounds like it's mourning something, 'Papua New Guinea' rising out of an elbow-deep bassline and an ethereal vocal into pure elegiac euphoria. FSOL made their debut a strange, sorrowful thing at a moment when most rave was pure celebration. It sits at seventy-nine because the album leans on that one immortal single harder than anything ranked above it, but the single is one of the era's genuine peaks.
