ISDN turns transmission itself into part of the music. FSOL improvise ambient in real time and send it down phone lines to radio stations, making technical limitation sound like an aesthetic choice rather than a compromise. As a listening record it gives ground to their composed work. As an idea it was years ahead of everyone.
