Radio Scarecrow finds the Black Dog in veteran ambient-techno form: patient sequencing, muted rhythm and enough melodic unease to stop the record drifting into background music. Seventeen tracks bracketed by 'Transmission Start' and 'Dials & Dialers 2', which is a radio play's furniture. It is comfortable territory, but handled with real control.
