E2-E4 is one hour, one sequence, recorded in a single night, and it became Balearic's foundation stone. Manuel Göttsching built a piece that couldn't exist as anything but an album, a slowly evolving loop that Ibiza adopted as scripture and that 'Sueño Latino' turned into proto-house. It's the thing itself, not its influence, that earns the placement. It sits at seventy-five because it's a singular gesture rather than a body of work, but the gesture changed dance music.
