Timewind

Timewind is two side-long pieces, no drums, total commitment, Klaus Schulze at his most patient and most uncompromising. It's the Berlin School's best solo statement, a record that asks the listener to surrender to duration and rewards them with something genuinely transporting. It ranks at a hundred and forty-one because on this list it's a deep ancestor rather than a rave record, but as sustained sequencer music it's close to definitive, and trance descends from it.
