Computer World is Kraftwerk's tightest record, funnier and funkier than Trans-Europe Express, and it's the most sampled thing they made. 'Numbers' alone seeded electro and Miami bass and a chunk of house's DNA, and the whole album plays end to end without a wasted moment. It sits at seventy-three because it's slightly less monumental than TEE as a total statement, but as a piece of pure craft it might be their best, and its fingerprints are everywhere downstream.
