Debut

Debut is a club record with a singer, Nellee Hooper producing and Underworld remixing and Graham Massey co-writing, a pop album that genuinely sounded like a nightclub in 1993. Björk brought the songs and the scene brought the production, and the fusion was new. It's great but uneven, the cabaret moments sitting oddly beside the club ones, which is the honest reason it sits at seventy-two rather than up with Homogenic. The method was real even when the album wandered.
