Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider built the grammar that electronic pop, hip-hop, techno and house all still speak, in a Düsseldorf studio they called Kling Klang. Trans-Europe Express, Computer World and The Man-Machine are the records everything here keeps returning to. Afrika Bambaataa and the Belleville Three took entirely different lessons from the same handful of records.
