New Jersey deep house as a concept album on Motown; almost nobody heard it

A Motown-minded deep-house concept album was an odd proposition; Blaze committed to it completely. 25 Years Later treats house as a vehicle for songwriting, gospel feeling and album-scale continuity rather than a stack of tools. Its obscurity is the accident. The songs are not. A lost record where it should be a canonical one, and it deserved far better than it got.

New Jersey gospel house written as a song cycle rather than a set of tools, closer to Motown than to Chicago. Hedge, Milan and Herbert wrote and sang their own material when almost nobody in house was doing either.
