Strange Cargo III is the record before Madonna took him, William Orbit building lush, melodic, atmospheric ambient house with 'Water from a Vine Leaf' at its centre. It's a record of real beauty and craft, the sound Orbit would later bring to the mainstream captured in its purest form, and it's aged gracefully. It ranks at a hundred and eighty-eight because it's a fine example of its sound rather than an innovation, but the craft is impeccable, and the best tracks are genuinely lovely.
