Why it's here

Brixton maximalism; house music with too much of everything and no regrets

Remedy is Brixton maximalism, house music with too much of everything and no regrets about any of it. Basement Jaxx crammed Latin, garage, ragga and pure pop into a debut that never stops throwing ideas, and the sheer generosity of it is the point. It's the sound of two people who love every kind of dance music refusing to choose. It ranks at fifty-one because the excess occasionally tips into clutter, but the clutter is joyful.
