Prepared-piano interludes and frantic drill'n'bass sit next to one another on Drukqs with almost no concern for cohesion. The sprawl is real. Thirty tracks: 'Vordhosbn' and '54 Cymru Beats' at one extreme, 'Avril 14th' at two minutes of solo piano at the other. At its best, Aphex Twin still sustains more rhythmic and harmonic invention than most artists manage across an entire career.
