Actress takes house's four-on-the-floor grid and smears it into something ghostly and lo-fi on Splazsh. 'Hubble' opens on nearly nine minutes and 'Purrple Splazsh' is where the damage stops sounding accidental. The tape-damaged surface never costs the music its danceability. The album holds together as a real arc instead of a pile of sketches.
