X-101 is UR's Berlin handshake, Tresor's first record and the moment Detroit and Berlin techno formally connected. The history is enormous, but the tracks themselves stay hard, spare and functional, arriving with none of the museum weight later attached to the encounter. They simply hit and leave. A landmark more than a sustained statement; what it started was enormous.
