X-101

X-101 is UR's Berlin handshake, Tresor's first record and the axis it built, the moment Detroit and Berlin techno formally connected. It's a foundational document as much as an album, the sound of two cities' scenes recognising each other, and the music holds up as hard, functional, uncompromising techno. It ranks at a hundred and forty-nine because it's a historical landmark more than a sustained artistic statement, but the history it made was enormous, and the tracks still work.
