From the Far Future reduces Detroit techno to stripped rhythm, hypnotic repetition and machine-soul atmosphere. Terrence Dixon leaves enough space around the patterns that small changes in pulse and tone feel unusually exposed. 'One Bedroom Apartment' runs seven minutes, longer than anything else. The title is the least futuristic thing on a record called From the Far Future.
