The Secret Tapes of Dr. Eich is Carl Craig as Paperclip People, and 'Throw' is eleven minutes that still empty the bar onto the floor. It's Detroit techno at its most immediately physical, a record built around one of the genre's great functional weapons. It ranks at a hundred and nineteen because it leans on that peak more than on sustained album craft, but the peak is one of the most reliable dancefloor tools ever made, and the rest holds up around it.
