Why it's here

Jungle for people who read; it aged better than the sneering suggested

68 Million Shades... is jungle for people who read, Spring Heel Jack bringing an art-school sensibility and a jazz sophistication to drum & bass. It aged far better than the sneering at the time suggested, a record of genuine ideas and real musical ambition that treated the genre as a serious form. It ranks at a hundred and eighty-one because the intellectual approach occasionally cools the dancefloor energy, but the ambition was real, and it's held up.
