Why it's here

Detroit reduced to its skeleton and somehow made heavier

Minimal Nation reduced Detroit techno to its skeleton and somehow made it heavier. Robert Hood proved that taking everything away could hit harder than piling everything on, and in doing so he named and demonstrated an entire genre in one record. Every minimal techno producer works in its debt. It sits at forty because reduction is its whole argument, but no record here makes that argument better.
