Modus Operandi is jungle as architecture, breaks edited to the millisecond until the rhythm becomes a piece of precision engineering. Photek made drum & bass that was almost too exact to blend, and in doing so he wrote the textbook every technical D&B producer has studied since. It's the genre at its most controlled. It sits at fifty-eight, just above New Forms, because Photek's record is the deeper and stranger of the two even if Size's is warmer.
