Great Lengths

Great Lengths is what happens when garage swing, broken beat and techno stop respecting their assigned seats. Martyn holds the low end steady while the rhythms lean, stumble and recover around it, so the record feels less like a fusion project than a club night where the genre labels have been peeled off the doors. There is a track called '(silence)' two minutes long, and Martyn means it as punctuation rather than a joke.

Dubstep heard from the Netherlands through a Detroit filter. Deykers came from drum and bass and built the bridge record where house, techno and 140 finally shared a room. Post-dubstep effectively starts here.
