Why it's here

Warp's Detroit signing; more melodic and more melancholy than Azimuth

Metaphor darkens Kenny Larkin's language and keeps it sharp. The melodies sit deeper in the mix and the grooves carry a quiet unease that accumulates instead of announcing itself. Nothing reaches for drama; the mood thickens by degrees. He refines his own mode instead of leaving it; few techno records feel this deeply.
