Konigsforst

Königsforst is Wolfgang Voigt's forest, Wagner samples and a four-four pulse buried under mist, ambient techno as pure atmosphere. GAS built a whole world out of orchestral fragments and a distant kick, and Kompakt's pop-ambient wing grew directly out of it. Voigt's shadow falls across everything ambient techno became after. It ranks at a hundred and six because it works by immersion rather than event, but the immersion is total, and few records build a place this completely.
