Ambiant Otaku

Ambiant Otaku is Fax at its finest, Namlook's Japanese collaborator Tetsu Inoue working alone and building something quietly perfect. It's ambient with an unusual depth and strangeness, warmth and unease held in careful balance, and it stands among the label's best releases. It ranks at a hundred and seven because it's a cult record within a cult catalogue, but the people who know it are right, and it rewards close listening in a way most ambient doesn't.
