Walking Wounded is a folk-rooted duo defecting to jungle and getting it completely right. Spring Heel Jack and Omni Trio worked the boards, Ben Watt was DJing jungle at the time, and it shows in every rhythm; Tracey Thorn's writing does the rest. It's the highest riser of the whole project, and it edges above Maxinquaye by a nose because it's more consistent even if it's never quite as startling. It earns the placement on method, not sentiment.
