Why it's here
Mark Bell of LFO on the beats, Icelandic string octet over the top; pop and IDM as equals
Homogenic is pop and IDM meeting as equals. Mark Bell of LFO built the beats, an Icelandic string octet sits over the top, and 'Jóga' and 'Hunter' and 'All Is Full of Love' fuse the two worlds without either giving ground. It's arguably the best marriage of pop songwriting and electronic production the decade managed, and it stands at twenty-four on the strength of that, not on Björk's fame. The method is real; that's why it's here.
