Dust masks, Vicks and 'Activ-8': Full On Mask Hysteria has no interest in pretending hardcore rave was dignified. Altern-8 commit completely to the silliness while making tracks sturdy enough to survive it. A novelty as much as a statement, and one of the very few hardcore records that works as an album. The costumes dated; the rush did not.
