Why it's here
Carl Craig's alias; Planet E at its most abstract and most danceable at once
The Sound of Music is Carl Craig's alias at its most abstract and most danceable at once, Planet E stretching techno into strange and beautiful shapes. As 69 he made music that works on the floor and rewards the headphones equally, and it's some of his most inventive production. It ranks at a hundred and nine because it's a facet of a larger genius rather than the definitive statement, but the facet is genuinely brilliant, and few producers had this range.
