Mount Kimbie trade dubstep's weight for skeletal drums, tape-warped fragments and negative space on Crooks & Lovers. The album's intimate, unhurried vocabulary fed directly into a generation of UK bass and bedroom-electronic production. 'Before I Move Off' and 'Carbonated' are the two everyone took away, and 'Adriatic' is the ninety seconds that explains the rest.
