Deep Space is Juan Atkins finally working at album length, the founder of techno delivering his own summary of the form he named. It's Model 500 at full stretch, the electro-funk template that seeded a genre laid out across a whole record rather than a single. The influence here is really the career, not this one LP, which is the honest reason it sits at fifty-four. But the founder earned the right to be summarised, and he did it well.
