177 on The 250 Best Electronic Albums of the 20th Century

Full Cycle's philosopher; Bristol D&B at its most cerebral

Krust treats drum & bass as thinking music on Coded Language. Rhythm and empty space matter as much as momentum, while the politics are built into the arrangements instead of pasted over them. Sometimes the floor drops away while Krust follows the idea, and he is in no hurry to bring it back. The thinking cools the record down here and there; the best of it goes genuinely deep.

11 on The 10 Best Jungle and Drum & Bass Albums

Afrofuturist argument with Saul Williams on the title track. Ideas ahead of dancefloor function, deliberately.
