Extra's video won awards; the record deserved the attention more than the video did
'Extra' is the obvious entry point into Jelly Tones. Ken Ishii carries its melodic, forward-looking techno across a full album, and the visual identity around the record never does the musical work. It is one of the better Japanese techno statements of its era. The clip dated; the tracks did not.
