Why it's here

In Colour reassembles UK rave history, hardcore stabs and jungle breaks and 2-step swing and steel-pan hooks, into a coherent solo album that never abandons dancefloor function for nostalgia's sake. 'Gosh' opens on a hardcore stab and 'Loud Places' turns the same archive into a pop song about missing someone. Its clarity of production and songcraft carried underground rave memory to an audience that had never been near the raves it drew from.
