Beyond the Mix

Beyond the Mix is the Godfather's only real album, Frankie Knuckles proving the man who invented so much of house could hold a full-length. It's warm, professional, deeply musical house from the person who arguably started it all, and 'Your Love' alone justifies the entry. It ranks at a hundred and twenty-four because it's a fine album rather than a revolutionary one, the innovation having happened on the singles that preceded it, but the craft is impeccable.
