On Sommer, DeepChord makes reverb feel less like an effect than a climate system. Thirteen tracks almost all within a minute of each other in length. That is less a sequence than a weather system holding steady. It extends the Basic Channel dub-techno lineage with unusually vivid, physically warm soundsystem textures. Tones hang in the air long after the beat has moved on, warm enough to feel bodily and diffuse enough to make the edges of the room disappear.
