Maya

Maya is before Lhasa, the more restrained one, Banco de Gaia building global ambient with a lighter touch than the more famous record that followed. It's a record of real atmosphere and craft, the ethnographic sampling handled with more restraint and the compositions more focused, and it's arguably the more coherent of the two. It ranks at a hundred and ninety-five because it's overshadowed by its more ambitious successor, but it's the tighter record, and it holds up well.
