Electro and acid played with punk conviction and no computer anywhere in sight. She held a long residency at the Golden Pudel in Hamburg, records for Ninja Tune and Werkdiscs, and mixes live to tape rather than editing afterwards. Discreet Desires made raw machine music glamorous again at a moment when club production was getting very clean indeed.
