Branko, Kalaf, Riot and Blaya came out of Lisbon's suburbs with Angolan rhythm and European club weight, and treated the combination as entirely normal rather than exotic. Black Diamond made peripheral bass music sound like the centre of things, which was the argument the group existed to make and they won it decisively.
