Recorded live on a Reykjavik church organ and then corroded through tape and digital processing, Ravedeath, 1972 turns a single sound source into vast, physically overwhelming waves of noise and decay. Its sculptural sense of scale and destruction gives drone composition a rare cinematic, almost geological weight. 'The Piano Drop' opens on the sound the title describes. The three parts of 'In The Fog' take up half the running time.

A church organ in Reykjavik, recorded in a day and taken apart for months afterwards. As loud as ambient music gets and still ambient, because the volume is weather rather than aggression.
