Malice in Wonderland is Goldie's darkcore alias, 'Terminator' and the sound of jungle's first mutation, the moment the genre turned dark and futurist. As Rufige Kru he built something menacing and forward-looking, the breakbeat science pushed toward dread. It ranks at a hundred and forty-two because it's an early document more than a finished album, but the document catches a genuine turning point, and it's where a whole darker strand of the genre began.
