Why it's here

On his self-titled album, Moodymann makes Detroit house intimate, unruly and deeply human. 'Sloppy Cosmic' closes the record at ten minutes, three times longer than anything else on it. Samples, voices and loose grooves rub against one another like a room being lived in. The warmth comes from the mess as much as the soul.
