The Silicon Dawn is Peacefrog's Ohio machine-soul, Dan Curtin building warm, melodic, emotionally rich techno that deserved far more attention than it got. It's a record with genuine feeling under the machines, Detroit-influenced techno made in the American Midwest with real soul, and it's criminally overlooked. It ranks at a hundred and eighty-four because it's an obscure record rather than a landmark, but the warmth and the craft are real, and it holds up beautifully.
